Supporting Our Youth

The "Supporting Our Youth" program is specific to CENTURY 21 LEADING and was initiated in 1994. Throughout the years we have been able to help over 800 youth in our local communities of Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, and Parkland County by providing support to families in need, in order for their children to participate in a variety of positive events.

The following clarifies the scope of our purpose:

 "To encourage and assist children in need, in the areas of education scholarships and cultural and recreational projects, with a view promoting the mental, physical, and social well-being and development of these children."

Our REALTORS® have pledged a portion of their commissions to provide financial assistance to children for some of the following opportunities: Summer camps; dance; gymnastics; sports participation; music or drama courses; enrolment in scouting, guiding, cadets, school programs; municipal or other youth programs; recreational, cultural, or continuing education programs. We welcome applications for other selections as well.

The maximum assistance is about $200 per child or $600 per family, and in some cases can be supplemented by other community fundraising. It is requested that whenever possible, applicants cover 50% of the program registration fee. When there is a higher volume of families seeking support, we try to spread the funds so every family receives support.

Applications are considered by a committee of our REALTORS® to determine qualification based on individual needs. Criteria for subsidy are based on the family's financial situation, family circumstances, and benefits to the child. Subsidies are made as soon as possible and are ongoing throughout the year.
